Go Chargers!

Excitement and anticipation were in the air as we arrived at Qualcomm Stadium to watch the Chargers take on the Colts. None of us had ever been to a playoff game before and the game didn't disappoint. We spent the afternoon tailgating and visiting with friends. Conor had his first authentic American tailgating experience which I think he enjoyed more than the game itself. We got into the stadium just before the game started and from there time sped up. The game was back and forth and the crowd kept jumping up with cheers and then sitting down with disappointment. Admittedly I was nervous when the game went into overtime. We all held our breath through the coin toss....and it was tails! The Chargers would receive! The crowd went wild! I took the opportunity to give Conor a little lesson in American football. As everyone was cheering about the coin toss, I leaned over to Conor and told him that we won the game! He said, "what we won the game?" and Amy and I started busting up laughing. I'm not sure he'll ever let down that moment of gullibility. Finally, however, the Chargers did march down the field to score the game winning touchdown! Overall, our first playoff experience was more than we could have asked for. Let's just hope the Chargers can keep the streak going next week in Tennessee.
