Too Much... To Catch Up On!

Have you ever gotten so far behind on something that you don't even know where to begin? So you don't even start the project because you don't know when you'll be able to dedicate that much time to catching up. Of course, this just perpetuates the problem and you just end up even farther behind than you ever were before! This is my current blog problem. You see, I am currently so busy that I don't have time to blog about it. The irony is that I actually do have things to blog about when I'm busy, but I don't have any time to do it! O the shame!

Well, I'll start with recent and work my way back... Last weekend Daryll and I had the pleasure of visiting with his parents on their quick weekend trip down to San Diego. We had a very enjoyable time catching up on the many things that have recently happened in our lives. Friday evening we were all a little tired from a long day of travel, work, and American Gladiators (more on that later), so we spent the evening in BBQing. Saturday Daryll had a baseball game in hot, hot Otay Ranch and we all went out to watch it (well, for a few innings at least...) Andrea and I left early to head to the San Ysidro outlets and surprisingly we only left with a bag from one store (our husbands were so proud ;-). While the boys bonded Andrea and I enjoyed being pampered by a wonderful pedicure where the ladies working there were enthralled by our mini wedding albums. One of the ladies even noticed my french toenails! That evening we BBQed again while enjoying a visit from Ingrid, Alyssa, and Nick. Sunday morning we headed out to breakfast and then headed out to the Pug meetup at Coronado dog beach. It was perfect beach weather and there were a ton of pugs out at the event. The dogs had a great time and Daryll had an even better time. When we left the sand was too hot for the puppies paws so we had to carry them out! It was a really enjoyable weekend spent with the Dormans! (Pictures coming soon.)

Now, back to American Gladiators! Friday at KA was American Gladiator Day, a magical day where we set up different types of AG obstacles for the kids to compete against the counselors (ahem, gladiators) in. It was exhausting and hilarious and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. My personal favorite part of the day was the red, white, and blue tutu that I created for my costume the night before. (More pictures available here.)

The previous weekend was of course 4th of July weekend and we took the long journey to Heber, Arizona to spend the weekend with my Dad, Melanie, Amy, Conor, George, and Dad's friend Richard. On our way there we stopped in Phoenix to visit my friend Megan who had recently moved there from Colorado (but it seems like she's soooo much closer now!). It was so nice to see her and visit for a while. We always have a great time with each other with one complaint: the time we spend together is too short! We continued to Heber where we spent the weekend relaxing, bbqing, shooting pool, throwing darts, visiting, and eating a lot! Daryll went out on the dirt bikes with Conor and he was a natural. One of the highlights of the weekend was watching George run up and down the road with an American flag over his head yelling "Go USA! Go USA!". Hiiiiilarious!!! Even though I was really sick for the drive home on Sunday, it was still an absolutely wonderful 4th of July weekend! (P.S. more pictures available here.)

This week continues the craziness of our busily scheduled life. Tomorrow I have softball and Daryll has baseball, Wednesday we're going to the newest Harry Potter movie, Thursday I'm going camping with Leadership Camp, Friday we're going to Stampede, Saturday we have the rehearsal for Greg's wedding and then a game night, and Sunday is the wedding day. Fun, fun, fun...the madness continues!
